A 6% West Virginia Sales Tax is added to all charges.


A 6% Hampshire County lodging tax of $1.50 per person is added to the cost of each night's lodging.


Payment can be made by cash, check or electronically through your checking account via an invoice that is e-mailed to you. We do not accept credit cards due to their high administrative charges which would require us to raise our rates.

Gratuities are not included in the Rates below, but are greatly appreciated.



We ask each client to consider a small voluntary donation to the Cacapon and Lost Rivers Land Trust (http://www.cacapon.org/) to help keep lands like North River Retreat wild and protected from development. Again, this is voluntary only, and clients can choose not to donate with no questions asked.

Hunting Rates

Outdoor Activities Rates

A hunt is approximately 3 hours and includes guide, dogs and lunch.


Up to 2 Adults: $450 (50 quail released; additional birds are $9.00 each)


Additional Adults: $25*


*Safety concerns may limit the number of hunters


A $100 deposit is required to reserve a hunt. This deposit is non-refundable unless the reservation is replaced by another party or if NRR has to cancel the reservation due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Deer Hunting - Firearms Rates

Note: Reservations for all fall hunts are normally not accepted until mid-summer, after announcements are made on the NRR website and sent out via e-mail. Groups leasing the cabin and property the previous year have priority over groups wishing to lease for the first time.


Two-Day Guided Hunt (Applies when NRR property and cabin are not leased.)


Day 1: Arrive during the afternoon in time for supper.
Supper and lodging included.


Day 2: Hunt all day.
Breakfast, lunch, supper and lodging included.


Day 3: Hunt all day. Depart after the afternoon hunt.
Breakfast and lunch included.


Adult: $600
Youth: $500*

Three-Day Guided Hunt (Adult): $900 (Youth): $750


Additional Charges:
Deer skinning and quartering: $40. This service is normally provided by a neighbor. Hunters are welcome to process their deer using our facilities.

Leases - Unguided Hunts


All leases during the first two weeks of the buck firearms season include:

     • Exclusive use of the NRR cabin and all utilities for a group of up to five hunters
     • Exclusive hunting on the NRR property (437 acres) by the group
     • Use of the NRR Kawasaki Mule
    • The loan of safety vests for tree stands, shooting sticks, deer hanging pole and associated equipment for deer         processing

Lease of NRR property and cabin during the first 3 ½ days of the buck firearms season – arrive Sunday afternoon and depart Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) by noon : $1500


Lease of NRR property and cabin during the remainder of the first week of the buck firearms season – arrive Thursday afternoon (Thanksgiving Day) and depart Sunday by noon: $1000


Lease of NRR property and cabin during the first 3 ½ days of the second week of buck firearms season – arrive Sunday afternoon and depart Wednesday evening: $1000


A $250 deposit is required for all leases. This deposit is non-refundable unless the reservation is replaced by another party or if NRR has to cancel the reservation due to unforeseen circumstances.

Deer Hunting - Archery & Crossbow Rates

Leases - Unguided Hunts


Weekly lease of the NRR property (from Sunday at noon through Saturday):* $800


Use of the NRR campground and covered pavilion. We provide firewood, wash water, and propane for the gas grill. Group members are responsible for camping equipment, food, drinking water, and other supplies: $30/night


*Although a lease group has exclusive archery and crossbow hunting rights on the property, other activities such as clays shooting may be taking place during the same period. NRR will coordinate closely with the group to ensure that disturbance and interference by others is kept to a minimum.

To ensure for a quality hunting experience, only two hunting parties of 1-2 hunters are booked at a time and each party has their own guide.


Guests booking a two-morning guided hunt during the regular season will arrive in time for dinner on the evening before the first morning hunt, and depart after lunch the second day.


For the Youth Day hunt, the youth and parent or guardian will arrive in time for dinner on the evening prior to the hunting day, and depart after lunch the next day.

2 guests with 1 guide: $425 each

We have steel shot loads available at the following prices. Although guests are still allowed to bring their own shells to the range, they must not contain lead shot.

!WARNING!

If you are bringing your own shotguns to the range, please check with the manufacturer to make certain that they are compatible with steel shot. Some older models of shotguns and/or screw-in chokes are not compatible and may pose a danger to the shooter! When in doubt, you are welcome to use our 20 gauge shotguns at no additional charge.


* No charge for:

     o Loan of shotgun (20 gauge only), shooting vest and safety equipment. We ask that guests using loaned shotguns                 clean them afterwards.

     o Drinks and snacks

     o Use of Pavilion and fire pit/gas grill (propane provided)

* Sales tax

A 6% WV sales tax is added to the final bill, which includes the range fee, purchase of shotgun shells, and number of targets thrown.

Fishing and Camping Rates

POND FISHING


No charge when engaged in camping, deer hunting or spring gobbler hunting

CAMPING


$50 per 24 hour period (whole or partial). Two-night minimum.


A discounted rate of $30/night when leasing the property for archery and crossbow hunting.

A $50 deposit is required to reserve the campground. This deposit is non-refundable unless the reservation is replaced by another party or if NRR has to cancel the reservation due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

To help us plan our activities and ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and safe outdoor experience, we ask that our clients:


• Possess appropriate hunting and fishing licenses and obey all laws. We do not sell licenses on-site, but they can be easily purchased online or from nearby stores. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions. An excellent source of information about hunting and fishing regulations in West Virginia and purchasing licenses is available online at www.wvhunt.com.


* Register and sign a liability waiver (advance copies are available upon request).


* Use safety harnesses when hunting deer from tree stands.


* Remain in one location when guided during deer firearms seasons.


* Sight-in their firearms prior to arrival at NRR for deer hunting. Sighting-in at NRR is permitted only for hunting guests with reservations, who must sight-in at least two weeks before the start of a deer firearms season.


* Hunting or using firearms when under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
